"winnie the pooh : literally a time machine

I took my 6 year old to watch "winnie the pooh" and had a time travel experience! I had read some reviews before going as i did not want to waste time/money on a mediocre movie but was completely taken by surprise on how beautiful the movie is. Its adorable, sweet, innocent and full of whimsy. I found myself with tears in my eyes because i felt like a child , i felt like i was 6 again living in london with my family , reading winnie the pooh , playing with my stuffed animals thinking they were the most precious things in the world. The feeling of the warmth of home engulfed me. Safety, love, comfort .For one hour time turned back. The songs were short and sweet and the end song by zoey descahnel was lovely.
Amazingly my sponge bob crazy daughter loved it too! Thankfully she did not see me tearing up!Thank you disney for an hour of pure joy.

On a lighter note my man Marc Jacobs made me buy this

beauty from evilbay after lusting after it and trying to locate it at nordies, saks to no avail.

Its so pretty and the leather is smooshy, not as delectable as his old calf skin bags but a bit trendier than those.

And i obtained my HG bag the MJ dianee from a very nice person . Its funny, i saw this bag two years ago at nordstroms while window shopping. I fell in love immediately and lovingly touched it, looked at the price tag and wept goodbye! Two years later i have found it which goes to show you never give up on the handbag love gods!

Here is my baby

Finally some good news

The butcher of bosnia is captured and iam delighted. He will hopefully stand trail in this world to the innumerable atrocities he commited. How ironic that he was practicing as a doctor in "alternative medicine" , whats that a fancy name for ethinic cleansing?

Living not like a hunted man but a full fledged member of society which makes me think that psychologically he was not in hiding. He just did not want to get caught. Which comes to the age old question of justification of evil in the name of a larger good.
The blood of innocent civilians no matter where they live is never justifiable and hopefully will not go unanswered.

coldplays new single violet hill

I have been a huge fan of coldplay since their song "yellow" whuch is perfect love song. My favorite coldplay song is "THE SCIENTIST" which makes me cry every time i hear it. Its absolutely exquisite and will shatter your heart.

That being said i have high hopes for their new album, i just listened to the new single "violet hill" and have a mixed reaction. The base melody is pretty and the lyrics are alright but why did they have to put the piano keys crashing sound. Its really offputting and sounds pretentious.

I hope the rest of the album is a bit different and not so obviously coldplay

Muriels wedding , at a second glance

When i first watched Muriels wedding i was young, ful of hope and believed that something great is out there for me. I liked the movie a lot especially because of the ugly duckling Muriel (toni collettte) and how she finds herself no matter what it took. Even if it meant to look at herself and realize that the very things she despised and was running way from were a part of her and needed to be resolved.
I watched it again over the weekend and formed a very different feeling. I was completely disturbed by Muriels mother. She is a slow witted catatonic peron whom everyone looks at but no one sees her. Her husband is a total bully and her children have adopted the same kind of attitude. She just lumbers about, in a kind of startled expression and is quite invisible to all. So therein lies my nightmare. Suppose i become like that, invisible.
When i was young there was always the potential , the dream of being some one who mattered. And i am not satisfied by the fact that my kids love me etc etc , i always wanted more but could not get it. As time goes by will i become a ghost of myself?

Stila warehouse sale and waitrose baby bum cream

One of my perennial fav brands Stila is haveing a warehouse sale this saturday .If gas was not so expensive i would totally go and overspend on things i dont need !

I have been to a couple of these and its well worth it. Prices are marked way down and you can find some really nice stuff not just discontinued fugly items.

Another eye opening revelation in the world of beauty, U.K brand waitirose baby bum cream ( about $5.00) is either more or equally effective then most expensive face creams. My sis is going to kill me since i am responsible for hooking her on creme da la mer at $170.00 an ounce! So the adage is correct that now you can also have a face with skin as smooth as a babys bottom!

Not quite the first post i had envisioned but .....

somethings just leave you baffled, angry and surprised . Thus was my reaction on watching Jon Stewarts interview with journalist Aram Roston on his new book about Ahmed Chalabi.
Bloody hell is an understatement about how Chalabi charmed his way (with the help of his "freedom fighting" group) to tell lies and run away with millions of american tax payer money and countless contracts for his family.
Isnt there supposed to be a watchdog for these sort of shenanigans? Or were the higher powers so desperate to find anything to start this war that they (with a pagebook from british colonial history ) made deeds with anyone no matter how chequered the past is?
Watch the interview here and judge for yourself
